Resolution is only one factor. Networks, night scenes, storage, privacy and operating costs matter together.
Start with the scene
An entrance, counter, parking area and warehouse call for different lenses and light-handling capabilities.
Design the IP network
PoE switches, cable runs, segmentation, bandwidth and secure access must be planned together.
Assess existing coaxial wiring
Analog HD can be practical when coaxial infrastructure exists, but recorder and future expansion needs still matter.
Calculate storage realistically
Camera count, resolution, bitrate, movement and retention determine capacity. Reserve headroom.
Test night and AI features
Color night images and person/vehicle detection depend on the exact model and scene. Evaluate false alerts.
Protect privacy and credentials
Avoid intrusive camera views, limit access, update firmware and review recording obligations.
